Clothing is donated or purchased and then distributed. During
Amma's 2001 birthday celebrations, the Amritapuri ashram gave
away more than 1,000 saris.

Donations toward Amma's charitable activities are tax-exempted
in the United States.
Donations made to M.A. Center in San Ramon from persons outside the
United States are tax-exempt in the United States. If said donors file
U.S. tax returns, they can make use of the tax-exempt nature of these
donations.
