Looking for the lost earring

"An old woman was searching very intently for something in front of her house. A passer-by asked, 'What are you looking for, Grandma?'

"'I'm looking for one of my earrings that I lost,' she replied.

"The man joined her in the search. They searched and searched but couldn't find the earring.

"Finally, the man said to the old woman, 'Try to remember exactly where it could have fallen.'

"She said, 'Actually, it fell somewhere inside the house.'

"The man was annoyed by this and said, 'Then, why on earth are you looking for it out here, when you've known all the time that you lost it in the house?'

"The old woman replied, 'Because it's so dark inside! I thought I'd look for it out here because there is some light from the street lamp!'

"My children, if we wish to enjoy peace in our lives, we have to find its real source and search for it there. We will never get any real peace or happiness from the external world."
