Amma Day in the village of Elburn

9-11 August, Chicago – America Yatra 2024

After her New York program, Amma arrived in Chicago for the final program of this year’s America Yatra. The three-day event was held at MA Center Chicago.

The elation and joy of seeing Amma in their city after a five-year hiatus were clearly visible on the devotees’ faces.

Jeffrey Walter, the Mayor of the Village of Elburn, Illinois, welcomed Amma by garlanding her. He read out the proclamation declaring August 10th, 2024, as Amma Day in the Village of Elburn.

The proclamation stated: “The Village of Elburn acknowledges and celebrates Amma’s extraordinary contributions to humanity and her unwavering commitment to fostering peace and unity among all people. Therefore, I, Jeffrey Walter, the Mayor of the Village of Elburn, proclaim August 10, 2024, as Amma Day in the Village of Elburn.”
