17-18 Feb 2025, Chennai – Bharata Yatra 2025
Amma arrived in Chennai after the Madurai program for the two-day Brahmasthanam Festival at the temple she consecrated in 1990. This year marked its 35th anniversary, drawing thousands of devotees eager to receive Amma’s blessings.

Many dignitaries were present on both days to welcome Amma to Chennai. Addressing the gathering, Amma shared profound wisdom on the importance of awareness in daily life:
“Many act without thinking and think without acting. When a thought arises, it immediately manifests as words or actions, leaving no time gap. This lack of awareness fuels emotional reactions. But when the light of awareness shines, a gap appears between thought and action, enabling us to forgive and remain a witness to situations. Just as seeds left to roast under the sun will never sprout, in the light of awareness, the seeds of our vāsanas (latent tendencies) lose their power to grow.”

During the festival, Amma distributed saris and financial aid to AmritaSREE self-help group members, uplifting them in their journey toward self-reliance. She led devotees in Manasa Puja and Ma-Om meditation, personally instructing in Tamil, followed by soul-stirring bhajans and peace prayers.

Renowned musicians came to receive Amma’s darshan and blessings, including K.S. Chithra, celebrated Carnatic singer and playback artist, percussionist Sivamani, and music director Sharat Chandran. K.S. Chithra delighted the gathering with a melodious song in Amma’s presence, touching every heart.
As Amma concluded the program, she sang ‘Vishamakara Kannan’, filling the atmosphere with divine joy. With hearts full of love, devotees bid Amma farewell as she set off for the next stop on her Bharata Yatra—Karur.
